This policy explains what AzadBazar (azadbazar.af and the AzadBazar phone app, together "the Service") collects about you, why, who else receives it, and how you can delete it. AzadBazar is run from Afghanistan; questions go to info@azadbazar.af.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address (or the name and email that Google or Facebook give us when you log in with them), your name, and if you add them your phone number and city. We never post anything on Google or Facebook for you.
  • Your ads: title, description, photos, price, category, city and the phone number you show on the ad. Photos are saved again as new pictures, so the location (GPS) and phone details hidden inside them are removed.
  • Messages you send to other people through AzadBazar chat, and reports you send to us.
  • Use of the Service: the pages you open, the time, your IP address, browser or phone type and the country it comes from. We use this to count visits, keep the Service safe and find errors. We do not sell it and do not use advertising trackers.
  • App notifications: if you allow them, a notification address for your phone.

Claude, the AI of Anthropic

Before your first ad, edit, shop or chat message we ask you to agree to this. The text and photos of your ads (with category, city and price) are sent to Claude, an AI service of the company Anthropic, PBC (USA). Claude checks the ad against our rules, sorts it into the right category, fixes spelling, translates it into Dari, Pashto and English, and reads details such as the model or size. With the easy "Post an ad" form, Claude also fills in the title, category, price and city from your description and photos.

Your account details (name, email, the phone number box) are not sent. Anthropic processes this data for us under its commercial terms and does not use it to train its AI. Without your agreement no ad that you post yourself is sent to Claude; you can still look at ads, save favorites and call sellers. Two kinds of ads are checked by Claude without an agreement of their own: ads that the AzadBazar team posts for a seller who asked us to (for example by WhatsApp, because they have no email), and old ads from the earlier AzadBazar site that have no account.

You can take your agreement back at any time in My account (website) or Account settings (app). Your account and ads stay; Claude gets nothing new from your ads, and you are asked again before your next ad, edit, shop change or message.

Who else receives data

  • Other users see your ads, including the phone number you put on them, and the messages you send them.
  • Our server provider Contabo keeps the Service and its data on a rented server in the European Union (France).
  • Anthropic (Claude), as described above.
  • Google and Facebook only if you choose to log in with them.
  • Expo, Google and Apple deliver app notifications to your phone.
  • Authorities, only when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud.

Cookies

We use only our own cookies: one keeps you logged in, others remember your language, theme and similar choices. There are no advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

Your account and ads stay until you delete them. Prices of ads are kept without your name, phone number or photos, so the price charts can show how the market changes over the years, even after an ad is gone. Visit records are used for statistics and safety.

Delete your data

You can delete single ads, or your whole account with all its ads and photos, yourself in My account, in the website and in the app. More: How to delete your data. You can also write to us to ask what we keep about you.

Security

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Logins use codes sent by email instead of passwords; only a fingerprint (hash) of login cookies and codes is stored. No method is 100% safe, but we work to protect your data.

Children

The Service is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data; if you think a child has given us data, please contact us.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes. If the change is about what we share (for example a new AI service), we ask you again before your next ad.
